Halabala was the chief designer at United Arts and Crafts (UP). He was very influential from the 1930s onwards, pioneering the industrial manufacturing of furniture in Czechoslovakia. Furniture with the UP mark or individual pieces attributable to Jindrich Halabala are highly sought after today. The greatest demand is for Halabala’s reclining bent wood armchair. Halabala’s designs can be seen at the permanent collections of Die Samlung in Munich, Germany and many other important museums. We have a matching pair available – both newly upholstered and in excellent condition
